The Project

The partners believe that lifelong learning should be among the possibilities for every adult. We believe that everyone has skills, strength and talent to develop, in order to take a valuable place in society. We create opportunities for women with a migrant background to develop themselves within the possibilities that are available. This project cuts both ways: we developed a program for and by women with a migration background. In addition, we demonstrate the impact of Erasmus+ by exchanging best practices across borders and compiling a holistic program that can be easily rolled out to other organizations at home and abroad. FMDO and NWP use the program to train talents annually to become trainers. This will contribute to the retention of talent, diversity and inclusion within the organization, both at NWP and FMDO, and at partner organizations.

Objectives

To increase specific employment skills of talented women with migrant backgrounds working at FMDO and Netwerkpro.

To enrich the organization by training and retaining talent within the organization.

To support vulnerable women with a migration background to take the next step, by offering them a tailored empowerment program.

To create awareness and attention for the potential and added value of development of employees from the target group within organizations.

Results

We developed a high quality training method, © Pillars of Power, which can be used for and by women with a migration background and which meets the needs of both target groups.

We trained 8 trainees within the organizations to become trainers in the developed methodology. They learned about the use of the method, as well as how to facilitate a successful training and use specific training skills

The trainees gained working experience by training 20 vulnerable women in the developed methodology. These women received group trainings in empowerment, networking and skills, within a tailored program.

FMDO and Netwerkpro offer a training in the developed training method, including specific training skills, to other organisations that want to educate and stimulate their volunteers or employees, to be able to better support their target groups.
